I can’t decide which I love more, the Chocolate-Chocolate Chip or the Cookie Dough bites (leaning towards the chocolate) so here are recipes for both! I love portion controlled snacks made from whole foods that are easy to pop into a lunch box – or my mouth. These snack bites are made from beans and […]

“May our hearts overcome our appetites” – Unknown
Peace begins on our plate. Why fill our bodies with suffering and death when we can fuel them with the endless healing plant foods nature provides for us right from the earth? There’s a reason plant foods are so beautiful in their natural state. Although veganism is not a diet but a social justice movement, the plant-based diet is the ONLY diet scientifically proven to prevent, treat, and in many cases reverse, heart disease and the other top 15 killer diseases in the US. I encourage you to watch the non-graphic Forks Over Knives, Food Matters, soon to be released What The Health, and Cowspiracy, or read How Not To Die by Dr. Michael Greger, to find out why it’s in our own best interest to eat plant-exclusively. Veganism is a win-win for the animals, our planet, and ourselves. The only thing you’ll be giving up is the cruelty.
Food Inspo: Roasted Plum + Hot Buckwheat Cereal
Roasted plum + hot buckwheat cereal served with a drizzle of coconut yogurt, maple syrup, and raw goji cacao bites. A nice change from the typical oatmeal.
Food Inspo: Tex-Mex Casserole
Another great recipe coming from the Oh She Glows, it’s called the Crowd Pleasing Tex-Mex casserole for a reason!
Food Inspo: Carrot Dogs & Baked Beans
File this under things I never thought I’d say before I was vegan: but you don’t know what you’re missing until you’ve had a carrot dog. Marinated and grilled carrots mimic the taste and texture without the mystery meat and cancer causing ingredients of regular hot dogs. There are many commercially made vegan-friendly hot dogs on […]
Peaches & Cream Oatmeal with Homemade Sweet Almond Milk
It all started early in the morning, frustrated at the state of my refrigerator, I began organizing to make sense of all the unfinished meals and produce coming to their final days. It wasn’t until I made my way to the back of the top shelf that I found a forgotten bowl of soaking almonds […]
Green Summer Lemonade
Summer isn’t complete without a tart glass of lemonade to cool you down. But I wouldn’t be me if I wasn’t trying to sneak in veggies every chance I get. You won’t even notice the kale flavor but your body will appreciate the nutrients.
Food Inspo: Vegan Mars Bars – Refined Sugar Free [link to recipe]
Refined sugar-free Mars bar with Almond Joy-like tendencies. A stellar recipe by Taline Gabriel of Hippie Lane for her Hippie Lane recipe app. Our favorite, by far.
Food Inspo: Roasted Veggies for Barley Bowls
Roasted quartered onions, garlic cloves, tomatoes, and broccolini. Veggies are ready to add into barley bowls topped with Upton’s Naturals Italian seitan.
Food Inspo: Spicy Indian chickpea + cauliflower tacos
Spicy Indian chick pea + cauliflower tacos served with cooling cabbage and cucumber mint sauce for a little Taco Tuesday. I don’t have an exact recipe but for the taco base I do know I roasted an entire small head of cauliflower separately on 425 until fork tender. Before throwing the cauliflower in the oven, […]
Cherry Lemonade – Refined Sugar-Free
Is it ever really summer without lemonade? Or cherries for that matter? Truth be told, I hardly ever have lemonade anymore because I am too busy trying to get in my gallon of water a day or drinking a morning smoothie. I really try to watch my sugar intake because it makes me feel so […]
